I need to check in more often, or just leave the site open for "if" I open the computer, which is not often. I guess only certain people can post in the Events forum, so I'm here. I honestly thought our next meeting was today and Alexander Williamson (Fishtory) would be speaking. I get things wrong a lot, but he's been my favorite YTer for years, not just b/c I'm also a native to the Pacific NW, but just b/c he's great. Now I see no mention of him, just our next meeting is a week from today & even then I had to go to FB to see the meeting is next week with Mitchell Broome talking on DIY "stuff", which sounds very cool, too. But... what happened with Alexander, or did I dream that? It would be great if we could see future events in the Events forum,…

You weren't wrong about Alexander Williamson, he was originally our guest speaker for the upcoming June 6th meeting, but less than 2 weeks ago (only a few days after he confirmed with us he could come present for us) he's encountered some concerns that he should take care of from the comfort of his home and will not be able to travel out of state for a little while. We do hope to have him at some point in the upcoming year if possible, but even with months of planning, life can happen sometimes. We had to pivot our guest speaker presentation to our club's very own Mitchell Broome, who will be presenting on the evolution of DIY in the fish hobby. I believe we had mentioned something about it in the Events group on here, but I don't know if it was actually posted.

As for having to check the website more often... we are all guilty of it sometimes (I'm checking the forums after midnight because I forgot to look at it yesterday πŸ€ͺ)

any reefers? help with infusoria

I am wanting to start an infusoria culture for my amano shrimp larvae grow-out tank. These freshwater shrimp need to be raised in brackish to full marine water. I already have tetraselmis phytoplankton but want to experiment with feeding them marine infusoria. Problem is, I don't have a marine tank.

I could use a donation of a small amount of marine tank water or marine filter squeezings to get things started. I can meet a few minutes before the Apr 12 mega-auction.

Also, will dried out sand from the beach contain the critters in some kind of cyst form? Will "live mud" do the trick?

They are black skirt tetras. One is the glowfish version.

Meet & Greet in Roswell went well.

Hi all, just wanted to say the meet and greet went well at Odyssey Aquatics.

Met some great people and had some good conversations on reefing, learned some more about exotic freshwater fish, and how different people take care of their tanks are home. The passion was evident and I couldn't have had a better day conversing, and learning more about my hobby. Special thanks to Stewart Pence for helping out and just being a good human.

Thanks to those that stopped by and I hope to meet more in the community in March!

I haven't been here in a while, so missed out on your meet & greet. But I can't wait to visit your new store. Is it opened to the public yet? I looked up your website, but it looks mostly aimed at saltwater. Do you have any freshwater fish or inverts/snails? If not, do you expect to get any soon? I'm excited there's a new LFS in town!!!🌞 Yay you, kiddo!!!
