Urgent rehoming need: Siamese algae eater

Location: 30329 North druid hills near CHOA

Sad to be posting this, but urgently need to find a new home for my SAE, Blimpo. He is harassing and injuring my angelfish.

Blimp came to me from a friend's tank last year. He obliterated all the black beard algae in her tank and then mine. He is a 10/10 algae lawnmower.

Blimpo is a true SAE and is approximately 2 years old and 3 inches long. His favorite things to do are EAT VEGETABLES and BEG FOR MORE VEGETABLES. He can even be hand fed.

Unfortunately, Blimp will nip my poor angelfish's fins or chase and harass the tetras. He's not exactly aggro all the time, but he can be a jerk when he is bored and at this rate I can't keep up with providing zucchini, cucumber, spinach and other distractions to stop him from pestering my other fish. He is big and deserves a bigger tank than I can give him. Probably at least 50gal. He would probably do better with fish his size with short fins.

Please let me know if you're interested in hiring Blimp!

If you are ever having issues with SAE being a bit of a nuisance like that, it generally is one of 2 things. Either it really wants other conspecifics to school with and it’s starting to get unhappy being without others like it, or it is preparing to reproduce and is looking for a mate. While SAE rarely ever attempt to spawn naturally in captivity, they can still sometimes try, although almost always unsuccessfully.
