Help! Shrimp Subversion Appearing!

It's been a rough coupla weeks (months?) at the cryminy household, yet I haven't had any recent disasters. However, I was prepping a 16G cube tank for what were Blue Dream neocaridinas, but had to put them in shrimp jail until it was ready. Little did I know what they were up to in that bin until when, at least a month later than I'd intended, I finally was ready to move them. Hundreds of shrimp of all sizes, & most look like mutts to me, but I'm not even sure.

I had put the jail water in a bucket & knew from past experience that more could appear there, so left in on the screened porch. Every day I'd look & find more miniscule shrimplets, some <~2mm, just chillin' out on the sides of the bucket, so I'm glad I didn't throw the babies out with the water. That went on for weeks, I 'spose b/c they were either hiding in the mulm or had to grow enough to be visible. Maybe I'm not that glad, but I couldn't let them just die. I had to put them in a larger plastic bin in the basement & haven't really paid a lot of attention to them, although I have to do frequent water changes since it wasn't cycled. Too busy.

Anyway, last count including the tinies was ~400+. No doubt they've kept up the partying, so who knows how many there are now. I'm not particularly interested in selling them, but if somebody wants some I would appreciate some plants in trade. Nothing fancy. At this point I'd be happy with more guppy grass!

A few of them I actually like, even if they'd be considered culls by purists. Maybe I'll call 'em "Batiks" 🙃, since some are patterned that way (& I used to do batik). Others looked like rilis (sp?) & I just don't know. I can bring some to the next meeting if interested. Not sure what to do w/all of 'em, but I do know I don't want to end up with thousands.

Of course I'm also willing to just give some away, but they haven't been selectively bred by any means. I'll try to make myself light it up enough to take pics.

On another topic, although maybe I should stick to FB for these posts, is what happened to the sweetest aquarium YTer, Alexander Williamson? I asked in the "General" forum, but doubt it's looked at much.
