After acquiring a group of wild caught least killiefish from the most recent Spring Mega Auction, my mom put them in a nano tank and never looked closely at it. A few days ago we noticed a golden male livebearer and we had no idea what it was. I had a few theories, maybe it is an albino? Or maybe it’s a mutated gene variant of the other least Killies?

My parents thought it was a different fish all together that was a accidentally mixed in, but as it turns out, the golden male livebearer is a Golden Amelanistic Least Killiefish. We have 2 in the tank at the moment, and if we can manage to produce more, you may see some show up in a future auction.
