Hello everybody,

I hope you're doing well. I'm a teacher at a school just outside of Athens. Over the last two years, my students and I have really enjoyed having a fish tank in my classroom. Recently I've decided to focus on native species in my tank since I teach Georgia Studies, an 8th-grade class about the state of Georgia. While looking for a local source I came upon this club. I look forward to learning from any of y'all who enjoy keeping native species. I'm limited in the size I can have in my classrom and as such I have a 15 gal. Fluval Flex. From what I can tell it seems as though I'm looking at killifish but would love to hear opinions on any darters, chubs, or minnows that might be kept.

Thanks again for allowing me to introduce myself. I look forward to learning from all of y'all.

Sorry just saw this! I believe Michael Wolfe lives closer to you and is a very active member of NANFA and would be an excellent resource. I'm not an expert and newer to Georgia. Only local killifish I have collected is the Southern Studfish which are fairly cool. We have Rainbow Shiners here but you should have Yellowfin Shiners where you are which are nice looking as well. I'm a huge fan of the logperch as well. Shoot me a message if you want to ever collect somewhere in between Canton and Athens.
